What Is Astral Travel?

I'll be using the term "Astral Travel" here, but I'm sure people might disagree.  Some will have different terms for traveling out of the body depending on things like -- do you have a "astral body" or are you formless, is there a chord connecting you to your body, does it happen when you're awake or sleeping... etc.  I'm just grouping them all into this term Astral Travel.

Astral Travel is when you are having a conscious experience of sensory input at a location outside your body.  If you're seeing people walking along a beach in Taiwan and your body is in your living room in Columbus, Ohio, you're astrally projected.   If you can zoom up into the air from that beach in Taiwan and fly over to the coast of Maine and New York and watch someone order a beer at a fancy  night club, while still sitting physically on your couch in Columbus, you're astral traveling.  Make sense?

I do see a difference between astral traveling and "Remote Viewing."  In classical remote viewing you methodically collect abstract perceptions about a location or coordinate, and then hopefully verify that those were significantly accurate.  This is quite different from vividly being there as though you had two (or more) eyes, ears, and a nose.
