Why Astral Travel?

A few closing thoughts.  Some people think this is reserved for the pure of heart.  That only the monks and godlike can share in this freedom.  I disagree.  I'm not godlike.  I think that this statement and sentiment comes from our fear of others.  "Well, if anybody can do it, then what if someone watches me in the shower?  Or what if someone watches me when I'm being bad?"  My honest answer is that anyone can do this, and for any reason.  If a guy wants to explore the mystery of the girls' locker room, he can.  I don't even know how to stop him.  But on the bright side, he'll discover how un-fantasy like it is, and probably grow up a lot because of it.  I've seen my share of embarrassing things.  I've seen my girlfriends doing things they wouldn't want me to see.  I have developed a good sense of when I'm being watched myself, and by whom, and this is a pretty regular thing anymore.

These things are really trivial compared to the possibilities of astral traveling.  Go look at the rings of Saturn.  Go touch the sun.  Go explore the ruins and underground cities of old, and swim with the dolphins.  You can not watch the earth rise on the horizon of the moon and come back to your body the same person.  I promise that this can change your life forever, and I mean forever.

Once you are totally capable of being independent of your body, you view your body-life very differently.  You ever watch a kid - or a friend - playing a video game.  They get so vested in the game, totally focused, adrenaline pumping, working hard to succeed, afraid of "dying"?  We would do the same thing if we spent 50 hours getting to that last part of the game!  But the fear of dying, the adrenaline, it's all fake, right?  Why do we get so consumed by it?  It's just a game right?  The death isn't real.  Well when you're out of your body looking at the people all running around, you get the exact same feeling.  "Look at them scoot!" People all running around frantically, afraid of dying.  What if we realized that if we die, we can still smell our favorite flower or visit our favorite park?  You are a different person when you are free from the illusion that you ARE the character in the game of your life, a game your body is destined to lose eventually.

We can either say "we are not meant to do this, the vibrations scared me, and I heard the voice of my grandmother telling me that it would be evil to go on, so I'll never astral travel, and I condemn it."  And quit.  And accept that it's just not meant to be.  Or we can step out, turn around, and realize two things.  One, that our body reclining before us is our second most precious gift -- worth loving and taking care of -- and two, that our most precious gift is in fact our divine consciousness, always young, always old, always now.
