Step Two: Getting Out - What To Expect

Vibrations -- feels like your heart is going to pound out of your chest but it's actually not physical at all.  You won't believe me.  You may feel like you won't survive the vibrations, but stick with it, it's a sign you're on the right track!

Astral Noise -- Again, you won't believe this but it WILL happen.  More than typical.  It won't happen as much when you are a regular traveler but at first it can be very disturbing.  Like the violent vibrations, this is like a hurtle, an initiation that you have to survive to be among the travelers.  You'll hear a loved one say "Hey, are you okay?" and you'll look and there's no one there.  You'll be shaken.  If you're wife is in bed with you she'll say "honey, did you hear a knock at the door?" and you'll look over, and she's asleep. If you don't look over, you'll then hear someone walking up the steps towards your bedroom.  You'll dart up and there'll be no one there.  Chains dragging.  Friends mocking you, even chainsaws are not uncommon.  My best advice is this: set some time for astral traveling, what are the odds all these things will happen during that time.  If they do, then seriously, just let it all fall apart around you, you've got plans.  :)  Another tip I've heard is this, when you hear a noise like something fell over in another room, just go "oh, that must be the neighbor in his garage" and move on.  It's irrational, but surprisingly effective at dismissing the astral noise.

Paralysis -- there's medical explanations for this one.  Your body will go into trance and pretty much slump off to sleep.  The rest of you is awake.  You'll often feel your head falling slightly, and your neck clamping your airway.  Don't worry about it, you survive it every night when you sleep, just keep going.  This can be disturbing when your feel locked in a sleeping body.  Look on the bright side, your body is resting.  The only way I've found to wake the body is to focus ALL of your effort and attention on moving one big toe.  Just one.  Focus, and you can move from there.  Otherwise, let the body stay where it's at, and continue with some exit techniques.

Pulsing Lights / Geometric Shapes -- Common.  Look forward to it, this is a harmless one. And it can be down right beautiful.

Falling Sensation -- Ever had that dream where you're falling, or the nicer one where you're floating.  Well I'm betting you were out of your body, but didn't know it.  Personally, this is the sensation I feel AS I'm lifting out.  There's a quick fall, as though you just fell through the floor.  This is actually the release of the body and the entering of weightlessness.  It might make you a little queasy at first.

Third Eye Pressure / Tingling -- For me this happens during and after the OBE.  It can be very intense and border on uncomfortable for the beginner.  Let it be.
